All our encestors came from Germany and settled in the Midwest. As a result there are old German things that have been passed down from the older generations. The combination of hosting a German exchange student, his parents visiting, and the familiy history sharpened our interest in German Collectibles.
Then Ebay came along and all of a sudden it was possible to learn a lot about these crafting traditions; not to mention acquire many of them at reasonable prices. This site is one of the places where we display the items we have collected.
We have two other websites where we display additional German items. On our Expertic site we feature items that were specifically made for export under the Expertic label. On our Erzgebirge site we showcase things that were specifically made in and around the Ersgebirge region.
The distinction is not always clear, so if you find these kinds of collectibles interesting you will want to visit all three sites.
